What is Output Editor?
Output Editor is a Scope tool that allows users to build custom output templates for Single Scope and Scope of Work. It has various instruments that allow us to work with text, tables, and etc.
After the user has created a new output template, on the output details page user will see the content blocks which are containing all the data. There two default content block Header and Footer. These content blocks are editable but can not be removed. In order to add a new content block, the user should click 'Add content block' and follow instructions.
After user has content block to work with, there are few options for building output. But here we will talk about scope variables and widgets.
How should I use Output Editor variables?
Variables providing user access to different information from the scope system. Just type '${' inside of any content block and list of all available variables will be displayed.
Scroll down and pick the needed variable by clicking on it.
Some variables have additional customization options. For example, variables that contain date could be edited in order to meet user needs. Double click on the inserted variable and variable configuration popup will be displayed.
After customization variable will be displayed in the output file according to specified settings.
How should I use Output Editor widgets?
Scope widgets are a more complicated and informative version of variables. They are providing access to ready for use scope tables which user can customize.
Type '#{' in the content block of output editor and drop-down with available widgets will be displayed.
Double click on inserted widget and table configuration popup will be displayed.
Each widget has its own basic and advanced settings, so the user can customize the output template as needed.
