Overview
The SCOPE Better to Hubspot integration allows the user to transform a ‘Deal’ in Hubspot into a ‘scope’ in SCOPE Better, once the ‘Deal’ is moved to the selected ‘Deal’ Pipeline stage in Hubspot.
Confirmation of the data points passed:
- Deal name
- Deal value
- Client
If client is not specified on the ‘Deal’, then the ‘Deal’ name will be used as the ‘Client’ reference in SCOPE Better.
If the ‘Client’ field is not matched with the existing Client listed in SCOPE Better, then a new Client card will be created from the detail pushed from Hubspot to SCOPE Better.
A default ratecard as listed in SCOPE Better, will be attached to a created scope by the Hubspot push of data even if an existing client has a different ratecard attached in SCOPE Better.
Note: The connection between Hubspot and SCOPE Better is one-way.
How to set up the connection
1. Pre-requisites:
- Super Admin access level on Hubspot is required. If you need help from SCOPE Better with setting up the integration on Hubspot’s side, you would be required to temporarily grant Super Admin access to a member of the SCOPE Better Team
- Admin access on SCOPE Better side is required. Users must have permission to configure the Integrations in SCOPE Better
- Database access/developer access. One final step of the integration setup requires a SCOPE Better developer to help with the change to the integration service database. You can raise a request for this by emailing support@scopebetter.zendesk.com.
2. Steps to set up the integration:
- Open Hubspot → Integrations → Private Apps → Create Private App
2. Fill out the “Basic info” tab
3. Fill out “Scopes” tab with the following data exactly:
4. Go to the “Webhooks” tab and click on “commit changes”
The following popup appears where you can see the access token (it is automatically copied and ready to be pasted for you).
5. Log in to SCOPE Better → Manage → Integration settings → Hubspot → Select (or Update if it was set up before)
6. Paste the token obtained in the previous steps into apiToken field and click “Update”. You will see a “Create Scope Url” appear. Copy it. (You might need to refresh the page to see it).
7. Go back to Hubspot → Private Apps → Scope-Integration → Edit → Webhook page and paste the URL
8. While on the Webhooks page click on “Create subscriptions” and add the dealstage change as a trigger for this automation. Click “Subscribe”.
9. Click on “Commit changes”
10. Go to Settings → Data management → Objects → Deals → Pipelines tab (or access it from the pipeline view by clicking on “edit stages”)
This is where you need to land:
11. Create a stage that you will use to trigger the scope creation or select one of the existing stages and copy its Internal ID
12. For a user: Pass this ID to the Scope Support team to finalize the connection by raising a ticket
